Can anyone deny there is a reality TV show for just about every life situation? Dating, marriage, competition, sport, roomates, work/the office, food, singing, cooking, makeovers, home makeovers, plastic surgery, beauty competitions, acting, movie making, running a restaurant... What did I miss?
Last season, a full 60 percent of Fox's prime time programming was comprised of reality programming. There is a glut of reality shows, and there are some signs that Americans are (finally) tiring of it. I mean, how much can we really take? How much of it is original anymore?
It must stop! And it just might... The most recent sign of Americans changing the channel on reality television came to light today, when CBS announced it is pulling its new reality show, The Will, from its lineup after only one episode. This comes on the heels of the failure of Richard Branson's "The Rebel Billionaire," the shrinking of Mark Cuban's "The Benefactor" from eight episodes to six, and NBC getting a much smaller audience for its second season of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice."
Hopefully a sign of things to come...
